Privacy policy
The short version
This site is static. We run no advertising trackers, set no marketing or analytics cookies, and never sell or share your personal information. The only data that reaches us is what our host records to serve and protect the page, anonymous traffic counts, and whatever you choose to put in an email to us.
What we collect
Server logs
The site is hosted and served through Cloudflare. When a page is requested, Cloudflare records standard request data: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. This is generated automatically and is used to serve the site, protect it from attacks and automated abuse, and diagnose faults.
Privacy-friendly analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other websites. The figures we see are aggregate counts, not profiles of individuals.
Email you send us
When you email hello@nightlycinnamonroll.com we receive your address, your message, and anything you attach. We keep that correspondence so we can reply and, if we work together, so we have a record of the project.
How we use it
- Serving the site and keeping it secure and available
- Understanding roughly how many people visit and which pages they read
- Replying to your email and discussing possible work
- Keeping records of projects we've taken on
What we don't do
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. We set no advertising or analytics cookies, we don't build profiles of visitors, and we don't send marketing email to people who haven't asked for it.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own, and neither our analytics nor any advertising service places one. The only cookies you may receive here are strictly necessary security cookies set by Cloudflare while it protects the site:
- __cf_bm — Cloudflare's bot-management cookie, used to tell automated traffic from real visitors. It expires after about 30 minutes of inactivity, is generated separately for every site, and is not used to track you from site to site.
- cf_clearance — set only if you're shown a security challenge and pass it, so you aren't challenged again straight away.
Both are strictly necessary for the site's security, so there's no cookie banner asking you to opt in to them. Cloudflare processes this cookie data in the United States.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, protects it, and provides our analytics, and our email provider. They may only use it to provide their service to us. Cloudflare processes this data in the United States.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
How long we keep it
Cloudflare keeps request logs for a limited operational period, set by the plan we're on, and then discards them. Analytics figures are aggregate and retained indefinitely, as they identify no one. Email is kept for as long as we have a reason to keep it — an active conversation, a live project, or our records for a project we completed — and you can ask us to delete yours.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you rights over the personal information a business holds about you. We honor these requests from anyone who asks, wherever you live.
- Know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from
- Get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information — we don't do either, so there's nothing to opt out of
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these, email us. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm who you are, and we'll never treat you differently for asking.
Children
This is a business site and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
